The Results Are In! Revival Sash Releases Test Results for Coastal and Non-Coastal Product Lines
New York, New York – October 2019 – Revival Sash, a high-end, custom window and door manufacturer operated by New York and New Jersey-based Revival Holdings, has released test results on their non-coastal and coastal product lines. The tests were conducted by Molimo Architectural Product Testing, an independent third-party specialist providing lab and field testing of architectural products.
For their non-coastal product line, Revival Sash achieved both of the highest designations of the American Architectural Manufacturer’s Association (AAMA) certifications. According to AAMA standards, they were rated as CW and AW Class. These performance classes—typically used in low to mid-rise buildings and mid to high-rise buildings, respectively—signify that Revival’s non-coastal products performed successfully while tested under the most stringent requirements.
After impact testing, Revival Sash’s coastal product line achieved both Florida Building Code (FBC) and Miami-Dade certifications. The FBC prescribes performance and construction requirements for exterior windows and glass doors installed in wall systems, requiring windows to be impact-resistant or protected by a shutter if the structure is located within one mile of the coast where the wind speed is 100 mph or greater.
Additionally, the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) section of the FBC states every exterior opening, residential or commercial, must be provided with protection by shutters or impact-resistant windows against wind-borne debris caused by hurricanes. Miami-Dade County has the most stringent requirements in the country with regards to rain, wind, and wind-borne debris tests.
